Department of Special Education

The department offers following three types of special education teacher preparation programs; undergraduate program, graduate program, and postgraduate program (TOKUSEN). Students, who graduated from university, could register for TOKUSEN.
The programs contain three academic areas; education, psychology, and pathology for the handicapped.

Teacher's certification

A teacher's certification for Special Schools (aria of visual disability, hearing disability, intellectual disability, physical disability, and/or health impaired  education) will be awarded.

Academic activities

The students can also participate in the educational/research activities for children with handicapped at the Special Education Center attached to the University of Teacher Education Fukuoka where approximately 350 children come to. Almost the children come to the Center once a week.
